On July 26th, 2022, the former president of the United States took to his official social media handle to unveil his annual summer playlist that features songs he’s listening to.
Obama has been releasing the playlist since 2015 and Nigerian artists have been dominating the list.
In 2019, ‘Iron Man‘ by Nigerian sensational singer, Rema was featured on the list. In the same vein, ‘Essence‘ by Nigerian megastar, Wizkid was also featured on the list.
This time, Nigerian megastar, Burna Boy, Tems. Pheelz and BNXN (Buju) were featured on the list.
Sharing the list, the former president wrote;
Every year, I get excited to share my summer playlist because I learn about so many new artists from your replies—it’s an example of how music really can bring us all together.
