Fireboy DML Net Worth and Biography

Adedamola Adefalohan, professionally known by his stage name Fireboy DML is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, stage performer, and recording act. He was born and raised in Abeokuta, the capital city of Ogun State. The “DML” attached to his name is an acronym for “Damola” derived from his real name “Adedamola”. Fireboy DML is currently signed to YBNL Nations, a record label owned by the popular Nigerian rapper, Olamide. He rose to fame with the release of his 2019 single “Jealous“. Fireboy DML is currently one of the richest and most talented artists in Nigeria.

Fireboy DML Early Life and Education

Adedamola Adefalohan, better known as Fireboy DML was born on 5 February 1996 in Sagamu, Abeokuta, Ogun State. After completing his basic education, Fireboy DML moved to Osun State to further his studies. He bagged a degree in English Language at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Osun State. While in the university, he wrote poems and songs for people, it was there he realized he could make something out of music. Although, he started writing poems at a tender age but didn’t fully accept music as a full-time talent. Fireboy DML started making cool cash from songs he sold in the university, he started performing at some shows in school and became popular, then he realized music is what he could do and the passion for music grew even stronger. Upon graduation, he relocated with his school friends to Lagos to focus on his music career. While in Lagos he paid to perform at some shows and sometimes his pay for him.

Fireboy DML Musical Career

In October 2019, Fireboy DML was announced as the new signee of YBNL Nations by his record label boss, Olamide. He rose to stardom with the release of his 2019 debut single “Jealous” and it was his first song under YBNL Nations. Though, Jealous first appeared on YBNL Nations’ collaborative album “YBNL Mafia Family” in 2018, before it was re-released in 2019. Jealous was produced by Cracker Mallo and became a major hit in 2019; It earned Fireboy DML massive airplay and was nominated for various awards including Song of the Year at 2019 The Headies Awards. In June 2019, Fireboy dropped another hit track “What If I Say” produced by Pheelz which served as a follow-up to Jealous.

In November 2019, YBNL Nations released Fireboy DML’s first official studio album “Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps”. The album featured 13 tracks with no guest appearance and was primarily produced by Pheelz, alongside Cracker Mallo, IamBeatz, P Prime, and Echo the Guru. The album was supported by the lead singles “Jealous”, “What If I Say”, and “King”. It was widely accepted and gained positive reviews from music critics. LTG was an iconic album it gave Fireboy colossal commendation, it surpassed 6 million streams on Spotify and also won The Best R&B Album at The Headies 2020 edition.

In August 2020, Fireboy released his second studio album “APOLLO” the album featured 17 tracks such as “Champion”, “Tattoo” “Eli” “Spell” “Peru” and “Friday Feeling” with a guest appearance from Wande Coal, D Smoke, and his boss, Olamide. While describing the album, the singer said “the album is about evolution, growth, and pain”.

On 24 December, 2021 Fireboy teamed up with with the famous English singer and songwriter to unleash the remix of his 2020 hit track “Peru”. The video of Peru Remix surpassed 2.5 million views on YouTube barely 24 hours of it’s released.

In 2020, Fireboy DML’s songs alongside Rema were included in FIFA 21 soundtrack. Fireboy is a versatile artist who described his music genre as Afro-Life, said he writes songs that audiences can easily vibe to. According to him, Wande Coal, Passenger, and Jon Bellion are his contemporaneous influences.
