Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe better known by his stage name, Kizz Daniel is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, stage performer, and recording artist. He was on May 1 1994 in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Kizz Daniel has an amazing talent but his talent was unknown until the release of his 2014 breakthrough song “Woju”. He formerly went by the stage name KissDanielbefore changing it to Kizz Daniel in May 2018

Kizz Daniel’s Biography

Kizz Daniel was born in Abeokuta, Ogun state. He had his primary school in Abeokuta and also attended Abeokuta Grammar School, Abeokuta. He was raised in Abeokuta alongside his four siblings, 3 younger brothers, and a sister. After secondary school, Kizz Daniel further his studies at the Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta where he acquired a degree in Water Engineering in 2013. In May 2015, Kizz Daniel lost his dad Kola Anidugbe after battling typhoid fever and died within a short period. Several headlines were circulated as the singer refused to attend his father’s funeral. Kizz Daniel’s camp alleged that his erstwhile record label “G-Worldwide Entertainment” prevented him from attending his father’s funeral. On the contrary, the record label debunked the claim, saying Kizz Daniel refused to attend his father’s burial because he felt his family was fetish on the account of how minor sickness attacked and took his father’s life within a short time.

Kizz Daniel started his music career at the university. He started professionally in 2013 after he graduated from the University. He came across Festus Ehimare (Emperor Geezy) the CEO of G-Worldwide Entertainment record label who signed him to his record label. In 2014, Kizz Daniel released his first single under the label “Shoye” (a Yoruba word for “You Understand”). On July 12, 2014, the visual was released and was directed by Mex film. In September 2014, he released his breakthrough song “Woju” the song was produced by DJ Coublon, it gained positive reviews from music critics and also earned the singer massive airplay. The music video was released weeks after and it peaked at number one on MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 music video chart for 6 weeks. In 2015, Kizz Daniel released his third single “Laye” to celebrate his birthday. The visual for Laye was released two weeks later and was directed by Aje Films.

On May 14, 2016, Kizz Daniel released his first studio album “New Era”. After splitting from his former record label ” G-WorldWide” he released his second studio album called “No Bad Song”, the album was first under his label imprint “Flyboy INC”. The album was released on 30th December 2018, it featured 20 tracks with guest appearances from Davido, Nasty C, Philkeyz, DJ Xclusive, Wretch 32, Diplo, Sarkodie, Demmie Vee, and Diamond Platinumz. The album was another success for Kizz Daniel, it capped at 55 on US iTunes Chart and number one on World Album Chart barely 24 hours after its release. In June 2020, he released his third studio album” King Of Love”. The album had no guest appearance and it was released under his record label, Flyboy INC for local dissemination and Empire for international distributions.

On November 19, 2021, Kizz Daniel unleashed another extended play (EP) “Barnabas” which houses seven (7) tracks with guest appearances from Kelvyn Colt and popular Highlife band, The Cavemen. Furthermore, the project work was produced by Young John, Philkeys, DJ Coublon, Reward Beatz, Blaisebeatz, and Roc Legion.

 On 4 May 2022, Kizz Daniel unleashed another engrossing tune titled “Buga” with a vocal assist from Nigerian skilled singer, Tekno. The song became a national anthem and capped many musical platforms. The song was produced by Reward Beatz and the visual was directed TG Omori.

While the contract deal was going smoothly, fire was brewing up behind closed doors. Issues started after Kizz Daniel decided to exit the label and move on. This led to several accusations between the Afropop singer and his former record label. News headlines went viral G-Worldwide was accused of paying Kizz Daniel N30,000 as a monthly salary while the label, on the other hand, said it has paid over N120 million to the singer since he was signed. Daniel was sued in court by G-Worldwide Entertainment for exiting the label without fulfilling the terms of the contract. However, the L&A Legal Consultant of Kizz Daniel claimed that he terminated the contract which is permitted to do under the terms of the deal.

It was further revealed that the label barred Kizz Daniel from collaborating with artists outside G-Worldwide Entertainment. Even got blocked by the popular comedian, Basketmouth on Instagram because Kizz Daniel was supposed to do a show for him but the label restricted him from doing so. After the case and several accusations, Kizz Daniel was found not guilty of the crimes he was accused of.
