Ladipoe or Poe was born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria. After completing his primary and secondary schools, Poe vacated Nigeria for North Carolina where he graduated from University of North Carolina at Pembroke majoring in both biology and chemistry. During his university days, Ladipoe developed a passion for music and decided to go into music. He started making music at the university with his friends Kurt and Jeffery. He co-founded the music group “Lyrically Equipped”. In early 2017, the Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy announced the signing of new artist into his record label. On 28 February 2017, Ladipoe got signed into Mavin Records and became the first rapper on the label since re-branding in 2012 from Mo’Hits.

Ladipoe started his musical career while in the university with his friends where they formed the music group ‘Lyrically Equipped’. He came into the limelight when he got featured in a track titled Feel Alright by SDC “Show Dem Camp”. In 2014 the Nigerian rapper, Falz featured Poe alongside Nigerian music diva, Yemi Alade on a song titled Marry Me. In 2017, he got signed by Don Jazzy into his record label, ” Mavin Records” and released his first track under Mavin Records titled ‘Man Already’. In March 2019, he released Jaiye which earned him massive streams across all music platforms. He later dropped his hit single “Know You” featuring Simi in 2020. In 2021, he dropped a single titled ‘Feeling’ featuring Buju, the track went viral and earned him massive airplay. Feeling became one of the most played songs in Nigeria as it was used in many short comedy videos and memes. Ladipoe is inspired by the Slum Village, Little Brother, and Lupe.
