Naira Marley Early Life And Education

Naira Marley was born in the Agege areas of Lagos State. He was at a young age when he left Nigeria for England. At 11, he departed Nigeria to Peckham, South London, England. While growing up, Naira Marley had plan of becoming an MC or voice-over artist, but these plans were later renounced as his passion for music overshadowed them. Naira Marley graduated from Peckham Academy with a distinction in business. He also went further to study business Law at Crossway College.

Naira Marley Musical Career

After completing his education, Naira Marley renounced his intention of becoming an MC and voice-over artist. He decided to pursue his music dream, he dropped his first single “Marry Juana” and featured Max Twigz in 2014. In 2017, he came into the limelight with the release of “Issa Goal” the track became a hit and became the theme song for the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In 2018, he released the remix of “Issa Goal” where he collaborated with Simi, Falz, Olamide, Lil Kesh, and Slimcase. In 2019, Naira Marley released “Am I Yahoo Boy” featuring Zlatan and they both got arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) days after the release of the track. A few days later after he was granted bail he released his 2019 hit track “Soapy”. On 11 January 2020 Soapy earned him an award as it won Viewers Choice at 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards. In late 2019, Naira Marley unleashed his “LOL” (Lord Of Lamba) debut album which was a six-track EP and featured many Nigerian stars such as Mayorkun, Cblvck and Young John. In 2020 Naira Marley dropped Chi Chi which earned him huge streams across all musical platforms. In 2021 he dropped another hit track titled “Koleyewon” and the track became a national anthem and also topped many music charts.

In May 2022, he dropped another studio work tagged “God’s Timing’s The Best” the album accommodated 14 tracks with features from an array of stars like; Mayorkun, Zinoleesky, Mohbad, Jada Kingdom, Lil Kesh, Diquenza, Chivv, MHD and Busiswa.

The Nigerian controversial rapper derived his name from the Jamaican reggae messiah, Bob Marley whom he admires, his dreadlocks is also a tribute to the late singer.
