Oga Sabinus was born in the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria to Igbo parents. He attended both his primary and secondary schools in Port Harcourt before proceeding to the University Of Port Harcourt (Uniport) where he bagged a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Communication Studies.

Mr funny started his comedy journey while in the university. Although he started at a tender age but wasn’t serious about it until he got to the university. While in the university, Mr. Funny could make even the depressed burst into laughter with his humorous nature. As a secondary school student, Mr. Funny could make his fellow students laugh by mimicking teachers. This made most students encourage him to study teachers well so he could mimic them and make them laugh.
Mr funny first stand-up comedy was at the university. He had a crew with a guy called Bottle and Strong. Mr funny alongside his crew went to a competition they failed woefully. They were booed and chased from the stage. Mr funny ventured fully into comedy in 2015 but his efforts went futile until he hit stardom in 2019. He did numerous skits and upload them on social media (especially Instagram). Soon, his efforts began paying off as most social media influencers began sharing his humorous skits.
