Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon known better as Reekado Banks was born on 6 December 1993 in Lagos, Nigeria. He was raised by decent parents, his father is a pastor and mother a caterer. Banks is from a music-loving family, his sister is a gospel artiste and his brother is a producer who produced most of his songs during the early stage of his career. Reekado banks is the last child of his family and he is a native of Ondo state. At 14, Reekado Banks completed his secondary school and proceeded to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where he acquired a degree in History and Strategic Study.

Reekado Banks completed his secondary school, he started his music journey, he wrote many songs, he also learnt the rudiments of music and was coached by his elder brother who is a producer. On 21 February 2014, he got signed by Don Jazzy to his Mavin Records. He got noticed by the record label after an online notice that people should send in their music demo and he was the only one that got picked out of 5000 people. However, his elder brother has been sending Reekado Banks works to the record label and also communicated with the label on his behalf. He formally went by the stage name “Spicy” but later changed it to Reekado Banks because, according to him, the name has been bore by a lot of artistes and he wanted something different.
On 21 February 2014, he released the Tiwa Savage-assisted single ‘Turn It On’ which coincide with the day he was signed to Mavin Records and also his first official song. He also collaborated with Mavins crew on Dorobucci, Adaobi, Looku Looku and Arise. In 2015, he released Katapot which was a hit song and return positive review from music critics. However, Katapot was labelled a diss track towards D’Banj and Wande coal. But it was debunked by Reekado Banks who said the song was specially made for his fans. In 2016, he released the award winning tracks oluwa Ni and standard in January and June respectively.

Reekado Banks has been managed by his brother, Temi Solomon since the beginning of his career and it was going smoothly. In September 2019, he sacked his brother as a manager because he wanted to get somewhere else, as an emerging artist, the vision became a lot farther. He further cited that he saw farther than he used to see and he just needed somebody that’ll see as much, most especially someone that’s been there with other people (artists). Me and my brother are cool but no longer part of my brand, he added.

On December 7 2018 he disclosed his departure from Mavin Records after five years of staying due to contract expiration. On 9 December 2018, he launched his record label “Banks Music“.
