Michael Adebayo professionally known by his stage name Ruger is a Nigerian singer, rapper, stage performer, and songwriter who was shot into stardom after he was disclosed by his record label boss D’Prince as a new signee. Before fame, Ruger was formerly with the stage name “Mikki Drey” before joining Jonzing World Entertainment. He was born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria where he obtained his primary and secondary school leaving certificates.

Ruger’s Career

Ruger started his music career while in primary school. He was the guy who always entertained his school friends with a sensational tune. He was a member of the choir group of his church and also a member of his school musical band.

2020 became a breakthrough year for Ruger as he bagged a record label deal with D’Prince imprint Jonzing World record label. On 18 January 2020, Ruger was announced as the new signee into the label making him the second artist signed by the label after Rema. Inking a deal with Jonzing World shot him to stardom and his versatility became known to the public. In January 2021, Ruger was featured in One Shirt, a song by Jonzing World featuring Rema and D’Prince. On 12 March 2021, Ruger released his debut EP “The Pandemic” the EP houses 6 tracks ( Ruger, Abu Dhabi, Monalisa, Bow, Bounce, and Yekpa). Bounce from the EP gained massive airplay and returned positive reviews from music pundits. The visual for Bounce has surpassed 10 million views on YouTube.
